A therapist that allows

you to be human.

What is it like to be in the room with me as your therapist? Well, I’m what’s called a relational therapist. This means that I am going to show up as a human in the room with you. I focus on building a relationship with you first and foremost- one where you feel comfortable to share, one that allows me to call you out when you need it, one where we can laugh at the relatable situations that arise, and even one where we can sit safely in the suffering together. I believe that it’s okay to be and feel a little messy. Life is messy! But you don’t have to do it alone, so I am so glad you are here.

I imagine you are searching for therapy because you have recognized that change is needed in your life. Whether it be a need to relieve emotional pain, a desire to find more fulfillment and growth, or wanting to heal the relationships you care about most, I am here to hold a space where you can connect authentically to that need. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I offer individual, couples and family therapy to those struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and feeling “stuck”. While I work in evidence based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment Based Therapy, and Gottman Method, my main priority is being a human in the room with you- one who is willing to listen, understand, teach and support you as you make the changes needed in your life. I may be the expert in this room, but you are the expert in your life. Let’s help you embrace the messy and find joy.

My Background

I received my Masters in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego. I completed my training with one of the top 10 academic medical centers, UCSD, where I was trained to treat moderate to severe mental illness. I went on to continue there as an employee, where in addition to treating individuals, couples and families, I helped develop mental health programs such as an Active Duty Treatment Program in collaboration with Naval Medical Center and a Psycho-Educational Program to better prepare individuals and families for therapy.

I served as an educator of evidence based therapeutic practices for nurse practitioners, psychiatric residents and medical students at UCSD, as well as graduate students at USC School of Social Work.

I have specific training in healthy relationships, conflict management, life cycle transitions, anxiety, depression and trauma. Based on your needs-and through the lens of evidence based interventions- I provide education, guidance, support, and safety to help you find growth.
